Details: ASM – Government  The Role: This person will be responsible for managing and developing State/Local/Education/Federal government business within a geographic territory consisting of the Southeastern United States.   Territory will consist of TX, OK, AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, KY The primary responsibility will be to work with the Regional teams and Partners to drive revenue within the Government Sector. This person will report directly to the Director of Government Programs, and will work closely with the Regional teams. Detailed Responsibilities: Consistently achieve or exceed GOV assigned revenue/margin quota. Preparation of monthly/quarterly forecast for State & Local business, including weekly updates, as well as ongoing pipeline management. Develop strong relationships with partner sales teams to establish ShoreTel as the "go-to" vendor for enterprise telecommunications solutions, goal is to convince partner to lead with ShoreTel. Work with Regional teams and Partners to develop sales strategies to penetrate State & Local business within the territory. Establish/maintain high level relationships with key decision makers within State and Local government accounts in the Southeastern U.S. Negotiate/Secure/Manage large State & Local contracts/purchasing vehicles etc. Train/Certify/Mentor Regional sales teams and partners on selling to the government. Attend key meetings across the territory with local market teams. Share best practices/wins with Regional teams in other areas via conference calls, quarterly face to face meetings, etc. Proactively provide research and subject matter advice on State/Local/Education/Federal sales opportunities. Maintain consistent track record of monthly forecast accuracy of +/- 10%

Have experience and thorough knowledge of all aspects of contract formation, and contract administration. Possess comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles Work with the Director of Outreach and Communications on business development opportunities and a clear, comprehensive message related to the operations of this client and new opportunities. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Review, assess and make recommendations related to any contracts or legal correspondence.  Will require coordination with corporate legal resources and the Director of Contract Management and Strategic Alliances. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. As required, assist in the review of and response to procurements issued by government entities, including analyzing requirements and preparing specific responses based on specific knowledge of State of Texas law and/or pending legislation. Represent the corporation at association meetings, state meetings, internal meetings and other meetings and events as required. Manage, maintain and enhance relationship and budget with key state associations and government technology groups.
